Angela "Angie" Gulledge Obituary

AT THIS TIME ANGIE"S SERVICE HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR 1:30 PM AT TRINITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH JANUARY 5, 2019

Angela (Angie) Jayne Gulledge, 45, of Rio Vista, California passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family in her home on November 12, 2018. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend to all. Angela, was born January 11, 1973 in Newport News, Virginia, the daughter of Marianne Jane Goodson and John Rufus Gulledge (deceased.)
Angela graduated from Poquoson High School, Class of 1991. Following graduation she married and had the opportunity to move all over the country. Angela loved to travel, visit new places, and make friends everywhere she went. Her career involved a range of experiences including working in Optometry, being a chef and even being a flight attendant with American Airlines.
After almost two full months of hospital care and fighting surgery complications as well as organ failure, Angela entered home hospice care with a prognosis of 4-7 days to live. Being the fighter she was, she gave the world nine full days of smiles and love.
Angela’s smile and laugh were contagious. She was full of light and life. Even on the day she passed, she was cracking jokes and making everyone around her smile. Angela was athletic, cheering through high school and playing softball most of her life. This began her love for baseball, specifically her love for the San Francisco Giants. Angela committed to going to as many games as she could and called AT&T Park her happy place. Her friends describe her as feeling like sunshine. She loved to sing, and sang like an angel. She loved to cook, and would create delicious dishes for friends and family.
In recent months, she had developed the saying “learn to trust the journey.” This saying allowed her to handle each day at a time, and let go of the life she lived, trusting that her journey was finished and her destination was Heaven.
Angela is survived by her mother and children, Lindsey, Joey and Hudson as well as her siblings, David Brandt (Ellen), Henry Ayer (Karen), and Marianne Ayer; and numerous nieces and nephews as well as her beloved friend, Chuck Wesley and pets, Remi and Gage. She is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, her father, her brother Herbert Gulledge and nephew Adam Price.
