Joseph "Stevie" Thorne, 64, native of Poquoson, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family and loved ones on December 31,2019 after a long courageous battle with lung cancer.
Throughout high school Stevie played football, baseball, and was on the school’s first wrestling team where they won state championship. Stevie loved anything that had to do with the outdoors. He adored his grandchildren and wouldn't miss a single event they were in for the world. Stevie was the most gentle and kindhearted person you would ever meet. He would never complain even on his roughest days.
Stevie was preceded in death by his father, Franklin Roosevelt Thorne.
