Mitchell Young, Jr.

Mitchell Young Jr. (Sgt Pie), 75, of Hampton, VA passed away on April 22, 2019.

Mitchell was born on September 3, 1943 in Greenville, FL to Janie I. Young and Mitchell Young Sr.  He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and his brother Frank Young.  He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Christina Young, his children Krista Young, Jocelyn (Nsali) Masimbi, Darrius Young, his two grandchildren Donovan Young, Khalid Shabazz, his sisters Loretta Tutson, Dorothy Sims, and Jewel Devane, and loving nieces and nephews.

Mitchell proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in Texas, Georgia, and Germany before relocating to Virginia in 1985.  He loved driving and showcased this skill during careers with Pentran (now Hampton Roads Transit), and the United States Postal Service before retiring in 2011.  He was a diehard fan and collector of all things Dallas Cowboys, Tiger Woods and Muhammad Ali.  He also loved to keep up with world news and politics and enjoyed “discussing” his views with anyone up for a good debate. 
He is, and will continue to be, profoundly missed.
