Beverly Jean Boring, 73 of Newport News, Virginia passed away peacefully at Riverside Hospital, in the care of “Comfort Care” on September 30th, 2025. She was a cherished daughter, sister, Aunt, Great Aunt and friend.  She will be missed by all.

Beverly was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on December 3,1951 to Donald Robert and Alice Davenport Boring. She dedicated her life to her family, commitment to over 20 years in the banking business as a VP of Community Bank Administration, crafting and setting up a beautiful home. Her dry wit and sarcastic personality brightened the lives of all who knew her.

Beverly loved her early life growing up in the South (Marietta, Georgia) with friends and family ties from her mom and dad. Her father’s work took her and the family to Southern California then up to Northen California. Beverly loved Marietta so much she moved back to Marietta after high school and started her banking career. She later moved back to California to be close to family, then back to be with her mom and sister in Virginia. Quite the travels.

Beverly is survived by her amazing and loving mother, Alice Boring of Newport News, Virginia, her brothers Neal Boring of Gold Canyon, Arizona, Don Boring of San Jose, California, and her sister Anne Carlson of Poquoson, Virginia.

She was also blessed with many nieces and nephews; Brittany Brown of Frisco, Texas, Megan Wright of San Jose, California, Kelly Theriault of Gold Canyon, Arizona, Chad Carlson of Poquoson, Virginia, Sara Boring of Alameda, California, and William Boring of Morgan Hill, California.

Beverly was further blessed by her great nieces and nephews; Tyler Stanley of Santa Cruz, California, Emmy and Hudson Wright of San Jose, California, Liam and Lilly Brown of Frisco, Texas, and Chase Theriault of Gold Canyon, Arizona.

Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved father Bob Boring in March 2008 and will be buried at his side in Marietta Ga.  A celebration of Beverly’s life will be held at Mennowood Retirement Community in Newport News, Virginia on Tuesday, October 28th, 2025, at 2:00 pm. A family and friends gathering will be held on November 1st, watching VA Tech play football, 60’s music in the background with Taco Bell tacos on the menu, and of course, ESPN will be on the TV…all her favorites.

The family wishes to thank all of those that took care of Beverly at Mennowood Retirement Community, the nursing team during her dialysis treatment at DaVita in Newport News, and for the many who organized her care at PACE. and the amazing Nurses and Physicians Assistants at Riverside Comfort Care.  We are forever grateful for all the care you provided.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made in Beverly’s memory to Mennowood Retirement Community.
