Estelle Watkins Hautz, 94, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, September 22, 2023, after a long illness. A native and lifelong resident of Poquoson, Estelle was a loving and dedicated wife and mother who took great joy in having her family near her, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a past member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Estelle enjoyed her vegetable and flower gardens, but her favorite thing to do was traveling with her beloved Sug.
Preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Allan S. Hautz Sr.; parents, Cora Lavenia Firth and Henry Thomas Watkins; sisters, Rhodelia Perdue, Shirley Miller; brothers, Charles Ray, Billy and Henry Jr.
Estelle is survived by daughters, Lois Buck (Fleming) of Williamsburg, Debbie Johnson (Mike) of Poquoson, Dorothy Hautz (Don) of York County, and Amy Laing (Jim) of York County; son, Allan S. Hautz, Jr. (Stephanie) of York County; brother, Kenneth Watkins of Poquoson, 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, as well as many other loving relatives and dear friends.
The family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, September 28th at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson. The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, September 29th at Claytor Rollins by the Rev. Bob Cooper with the burial immediately following in Parklawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the Poquoson Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. 2099, Poquoson, VA 23662. “Estelle was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose greatest love and joy was her family.
