Carolyn M. Adkins, 64, was called Home on June 11, 2021. Carolyn was born on August 1, 1956, to Sarah and Charles Marshall. She was a native of Poquoson and resided in Dutton, Virginia for the last three years. She was strong in her faith to Christ and enjoyed crocheting baby blankets, hats, and sweaters to match.
Carolyn is reunited in Heaven with her parents, Sarah Elizabeth and Charles Lewis Marshall, and her faithful companion, Chelsea.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of forty-eight years, Larry Dale Adkins; son, Keith Adkins and wife Jocelyn; granddaughter, Dominique N. Adkins and fiancé Dylan; siblings, Amelia Insley and husband Mike, Charles Ray Marshall, Glenda Mae Dryden and husband Mike; siblings-in-law, Danny Cooper and wife Rhonda, Mickey Houston and husband Jeff, Carol Ann Sprunger and husband Vick, Carolyn Adkins and friend Bonnie and Carlos Adkins and wife Shirley; nieces and nephews, Mike Insley, Jr. and wife Gloria, Lisa Brogden and husband David, Charles Darren Insley and companion Tami, Sarah Marie Ross and husband Kyle, Bobby Gernert and wife Erica, Charles Gernert and wife Geneva; great-nieces and great-nephews, Mike Insley and wife Lindsay, Maggie Loveless and husband Rob, Mindy Beacham and husband Todd, Amelia Sue Brogden, Darren Insley, Jr. and wife Brianna, Daniel L. Insley, Elias Gernert, Riley Gernert, Luna Gernert, Ava Gernert, 10 great-great nieces and nephews with one on the way, her companion, Sophie, and many cousins and dear friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday June 16, 2021, from 6:00-7:30 PM at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home.
