Catherine Leyland-Mitchell

Catherine Leyland-Mitchell, 59, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 19, 2023. A native of Poquoson, Virginia, born to the late Thomas B. and Rhoda J. Leyland, Cathy was a longtime Hampton resident. Cathy loved boating, fishing, and cooking with family and friends. She loved helping her friends and her community as a volunteer for many events, and she did what she could to raise her two sons when they were young. She was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church.

Cathy is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Kelly S. Leyland. She is survived by sons, Cody Lee Mitchell and Joshua Thomas Mitchell, grandchildren, Ricky and Mkinley Powell as well as many loving relatives and dear friends.
