Christina "Chris" Duman (Kisic), age 65, passed away peacefully on December 4th, 2025, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She was surrounded by her husband, sons, brother and cousin-sister. Born on November 10th, 1960, in Portage, Pennsylvania, she lived a life defined by devotion to her family, enduring friendships, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life in the small town of Poquoson, VA.
Chris was the beloved daughter of the late Joe and Joann Kisic. She graduated from St. Joseph Grade School, Bishop Carroll High School and went on to Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Altoona, Pa. Her education laid the foundation for a life centered around compassion and service working 40 years in nursing, mostly at Sentara Hospital system in Hampton, Va. She carried these values into every role she held throughout her life.
She shared a wonderful life with her husband of 43 years, Michael Duman, whom she met and started dating at Bishop Carroll High School in Ebensburg, Pa. Together they raised three sons Benjamin, Nathan, and Zachary; instilling in them the same values and strength that Chris embodied. Her love extended deeply to her younger brother Joseph and to her daughters-in-law: Katrina, Amanda, and Nicole.
Chris’s greatest joy came from being a grandmother (Grammy). She cherished every moment spent with her eleven grandchildren: Kaydence, Camden, triplets - Hayley, Grayson, and Mackenzie; Braxton, Case, Emery, Max, Kyler, and Madelyn. Whether it was cheering them on at sporting, dancing, cheering and other events; spoiling them with gifts or simply sharing time over a home-cooked meal, Chris found immense happiness in their presence. She also shared a special bond with her cousin-sister Gina Krisko Bentley—a relationship that brought comfort and companionship throughout her life.
Chris had an abundant love for the water, boating and beach days were among her favorite pastimes. A gifted cook and gracious host, Chris made every gathering feel like home. Her kitchen was often filled with family, laughter and the aroma of lovingly prepared meals.
Her circle of lifelong friends remained close through the years, a testament to her loyalty and generous spirit. These friendships were a source of strength and celebration throughout all seasons of her life.
Chris was proceeded in death by her parents Joe and Joann Kisic, grandmother Mary Krisko, grandfather Joe Krisko, and Godmother aunt Louise “Weezie” Krisko.
Christina "Chris/Chrissy/Mom/Grammy" Duman’s legacy lives on through the family she nurtured and the countless lives she touched with kindness. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
