Dana Scott Rackliffe

Dana Scott Rackliffe, 78, passed away Friday, April 25, 2025. Born January 10, 1947, in Boston to the late Alice Miller, he was a resident of Yorktown for the last 27 years.
Dana served his country for 34 years in the United States Marine Corps and, after his retirement, worked for seven years as base security at NASA Langley Research Center. For his honor, courage and commitment to the Corps serving three tours in Vietnam, eighteen months in Operation Desert Storm, Southwest Asia, Dana was awarded two purple hearts and many medals of commendations, retiring at the rank of Base Sergeant Major from Kaneohe Marine Corps Base, Hawaii .
As a youth he enjoyed wrestling and football. In his retirement, Dana enjoyed exercising, golf and going to the beach and watching his granddaughter in all her activities including her racing at Langley Speedway.
Reunited in Heaven with his mother, Alice Miller, Dana is survived by his wife of 51 years, Colleen Rackliffe; daughter, Kelly M. Holloway (Forrest); granddaughter, Mackenzie Dana Holloway; fur babies, Boomer and Itty Bitty as well as many friends throughout the years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 8th at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home Chapel, Poquoson. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
