Daniel “Danny” Morris, 71, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2024, at Riverside Regional Medical Center. He was a resident of Hampton, VA.
Danny worked at NASA Langley Research Center for over 45 years but recently retired for health reasons. He was the Facility Coordinator for the 1268 Research Complex for many years, until he was asked to be the Facility Coordinator for the newly built Katherine G. Johnson Computational Research Facility. He played on the NASA ACD (later renamed ASC) softball team for many years.
Danny was happiest when he was out on the water, fishing from his Bass boat. Over the years, he fished at Lake Gaston, Chickahominy River, and in his later years at Newport News Park. With a friend, Danny designed and patented a fishing lure they called “The Jim Dandy”. He was an avid NASCAR and football fan, and he especially liked cheering for Jeff Gordon and the Green Bay Packers. Danny also enjoyed watching the squirrels, songbirds, and hummingbirds he fed in his backyard.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Danny on Thursday, November 14th at 5:00 PM at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home in Poquoson.
Arrangements and heartfelt guidance through Claytor Rollins Funeral Home.
