Deanna Williams Hastings passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. She was born September 4, 1938 in the Messick section of Poquoson and graduated from Poquoson High School Class of 1956. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Samuel “Sam” & Dorothy Ward Williams, and sister Phyllis Atkinson and her husband Ray.
Deanna is survived by her husband and childhood sweetheart of 65 years Roger, son Roger Jr, daughter Karen Hastings, honorary daughter Heather Salvador, granddaughter Megan McDonald (Dan) and great grandson (Cameron). Also very special to Deanna were her nephews, niece, and great nephews and great niece Aura. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Poquoson all of her life and it’s Wesley Fellowship Class; and the Charles Parish Chapter of the DAR. She was also active with the Poquoson Meals on Wheels program for many years. Deanna retired from Fort Eustis after 25 years of Civil Service. Deanna was a dedicated and loving wife, wonderful mother, and gifted pianist. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 30th at 11 AM at Weston Cemetery in Poquoson. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Poquoson Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad.
