Garnett.  She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 60 years Don William Ward, children William “Bill” Nathan Ward Sr. (Jennifer), and Anna Elizabeth Ward (Russell Treacy) and her bonus son Bryan Christopher.  She will be missed by her greatest loves, grandchildren Callie Ward Lewis, William Nathan Ward, Jr., Amory Elizabeth Treacy, and great-grandchildren Bennett Lewis, Brody Lewis, and William “Liam” Nathan Ward III, and her brother Bailey Tate Jackson Sr. To cherish her memory are nieces and nephews, Linda Hunt, Don Sibbers, Lisa Bowden, Paul Holzer, Adam McLain, Susanne Spivey, and Bailey Tate Jackson Jr., as well as several great nieces and nephews.

Liz Ward was raised in Lebanon, Virginia and attended Radford University where she earned her degree in education.  She began her teaching career at Poquoson High School in 1965 and finished her educational career at Pembroke High School in Hampton. After leaving the classroom, Liz continued her dedication to Poquoson City Schools by serving for a number of years on the school board as well as becoming the chairwoman. Following her teaching career Liz became a realtor with William E. Wood.  She took great pride in working with families who were looking to buy or sell homes, primarily in Poquoson and York County.

Liz was also a continued supporter of Poquoson youth athletics and extra-curricular activities.  She supported her family by spending countless hours in the bleachers, sponsoring little league teams, cheerleading, choir, and various other endeavors that benefited Poquoson’s youth.
