Ella Allen Hearne, RN-FNP,  Feb. 28, 1933 – Mar. 12, 2021

Loving Mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother. 

Survived by her loving Husband of 31 years J. B. Lovell; Daughter, Loree Hearne & Greg Nowicki, sons, William Hearne,

Wade Lovell & Suzanne Lovell, Thomas Lovell & Lynn, 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grand-children.  Member Resurrection Lutheran Church, Newport News, VA.

Always demonstrating, by her actions, Christ’s teaching to love one another.  Believing that we should love all others without regard to race, ethnicity, or Material possessions. In the 1950's, while in nurse's training in Gainesville, Florida, Ella was getting on a bus going to Tampa. There was only one remaining seat on the bus next to a woman of color. The bus driver announced that the woman of color must leave her seat because the two could not be seated together. Ella made it clear that if they could not sit together she would stand for the entire ride. The woman of color had been seated first and she would not take that away from her. Ella's respect and love for all was non-negotiable.
