Esther Sheaffer Holloway, 91, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on July 12, 2021. Born to Frank and Elma Sheaffer in Barnitz, Pennsylvania, Esther was a resident of Poquoson, Virginia for many years. Esther worked as a ward clerk at Eastern State Hospital retiring after 20 years of service in 1989. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Esther is reunited in Heaven with her husband of 68 years, John M. “Jack” Holloway, Sr.; daughters, Jackie Ray and Nell Jarmon; and grandson, Jeremy Brown.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Cathy Hall (David), John Holloway, Jr. (Paula), Lester Holloway (Wanda), and Michael Holloway (Hope); son-in-law, Jimi Jarmon; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and brother, Paul Sheaffer.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 19, 2021, from 11:00AM-12:00PM, immediately followed by a Celebration of Esther’s life at 12:00PM led by Patricia Riggs, all at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park in Hampton immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Poquoson Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 2099, Poquoson, Virginia 23662.
