Eugene "Gene" Kiah Wells

Gene Wells, a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on June 13th. Gene, a Planner with the Newport News Shipyard and Dry Dock Company, retired in September 1999 after 40 years of service. He was a native of Hampton and a longtime resident of Poquoson.
Preceded in death by his parents, Leander Wells and Evelyn Ross Waldron; sisters Grace and Patricia and brother, George, Gene is survived by his children, Michele Darlene Tuten, Michael Eugene Wells an Brian Kenneth Wells; grandchildren, Jessica Lawson, Jennifer Tuten, Jason Tuten, Michael Wells, Jr. "Gene", Steffi Wells and Dayton Wells; great-grandchildren, Chase, Evan, Blake, Ella and Selah as well as many other loving relatives and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held by family and friends 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home.
