Florence Mary Burt

Florence (Flo/Nana) Mary Burt, 90, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026. She was born on October 26, 1935, in Rochester, New York, to Rosalia and William Wurzer. For the past 50 years, Florence called Hampton her home.

Flo was a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and a dear friend to many. Her love extended across several generations, and her legacy lives on in the lives she shaped, nurtured, and loved.  She was a friend to many and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Her generosity and kindness touched countless lives. An avid crocheter, she poured love into every stitch — and if she knew you, chances are you were gifted one of her beautiful handmade afghans to treasure.

Her memory is lovingly cherished by her children, George Burt(Susan), Timothy Burt, Patricia Koning (Dan), and Paul Burt; her grandchildren, Charlene Mattingly, Michelle Mattingly, Joseph Koning, Dana Dorvit, Angela Temple, and Leigh Anne Cripe; her great-grandchildren, Lara Mattingly, Abigail Langford, Heaven Barton, Serenity Barton, Dax Cripe, and Ivy Cripe; her great-great-granddaughter, Azara Bradshaw; and Tammy Owens and Gail Marchese, daughters of her beloved David who were considered treasured members of her family.

She is now reunited with her parents, her son Michael, grandson Derrick Owens and long time companion David Firman.

A visitation will be held on March 14, 2026, from 12:00pm-2:00pm at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 2:30pm at Weston Cemetery in Poquoson.
