He dedicated the next 30 years of his life to the Hampton Police Department, retiring as a Lieutenant in 1990. He set out to and accomplished obtaining his private pilot’s license. Gale was passionate about gardening, often seen tending to his beautiful roses and flowers. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage, yard, and shed, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the York County EMS, the doctors, nurses, PCTs, and aides of Sentara Hospital in Williamsburg, particularly those on the 4th floor, 4 North.
