Retired Major Harry (Jim) James Taylor, Jr, (affectionately known as Pawpaw) age 70, of Poquoson, Virginia, passed away peacefully in his sleep in the late hours of October 25, 2022. Jim proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 23 years. He was born April 26, 1952, in Pennsylvania, son of the late Harry, Sr and Eva Taylor. Along with his parents he is reunited in heaven with his wife of 53 years, Karen Taylor and brother Gary Taylor.
Left to cherish his memory are his six siblings Sandra Croon (Stephen) of Katy, Texas, Jeff Taylor, Donna Taylor, David Taylor (Anita), Wesley Taylor (Lynn), and Dominique Taylor (Erwin) of Norfolk. His three children, Michelle Rose (Terry) of Shiloh, Patrick Taylor (Jennifer) of Yorktown, and Amy Rogers (James) of Poquoson; eleven grandchildren, Tucker Rose (Lilyann), Meghan King (Douglas), Kaia Taylor, Hunter Taylor, Rachael Taylor, Emma Rogers, Taylor Rogers, Gabrielle (Gabby) Taylor, Peyton Rogers, Jacob Rogers, Katelyn Bentley; and two great-grandchildren Ryder King and Jase Rose. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
His children and grandchildren always felt his unconditional love. He was our biggest supporter and always had the best advice for any situation.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held November 22nd at 2pm at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
