Jeffrey “Jeff” Scott Wilson, 59, departed this life in the early afternoon of September 23rd 2021 at Bayside of Poquoson Health and Rehab. Jeff was born in Newport News and lived in North Carolina with his favorite great-aunt until he was five before moving to Poquoson. He was a graduate of Poquoson High School, Class of 1980, where he wrestled and played the cornet in the marching band. He loved boating and fishing – affinities acquired through the influence of his paternal grandfather, and a passion for anything automobile related. Mechanically inclined, he was employed in the plumbing and HVAC trades. He owned a plumbing business in the 1990’s and subsequently worked as a project manager for several mechanical firms.
Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Goodwin Wilson, Sr. and Janice Carden Wilson, and his beloved grandmother, Virginia Mae Evans.
Left to cherish his memory is his sister, Denise Wilson Sanchez and her friend, June Forrest both of Poquoson; brother, Edward Goodwin Wilson, Jr. of Yorktown; nephew, Samual Goodwin Sanchez of Poquoson; great aunt, Allie-Jean Evans of Oxford, North Carolina; dear friend, James Deyerle, as well as other family members and many dear friends. He will be dearly missed.
No memorial service will take place. It was Jeff’s wish that donations in his memory be made to Poquoson Fire and Rescue. Online condolences to claytorrollins.com.
