Juanita Hoyt Obituary

Juanita Haynes Hoyt, born Feb. 23, 1939, passed away on Oct. 4, 2022 due to a long battle with her health.

She was born in Sidney, New York and grew up in Bainbridge, NY.  She has been a resident of York County, Va for 60 years.

She was a wonderful, inspiring mother—she finished high school through correspondence school before computers made it an easy task. She was the neighborhood “Mom” for several years, babysitting for several neighborhood children in addition to her own four.  After her son Richard Hoyt won a free scholarship for a beauty school in a radio contest and she decided to attend, she began working for a small salon.  Soon she was the owner and proprietor of her own Beauty Salon in her home.   Years later, she and her husband, Ronald Frank Hoyt chose to open R & N Miniatures where they sold dollhouses and dollhouse miniatures in Grafton and in Poquoson for many years.  She continued to run the business after my Dad passed away until her retirement.  In retirement, she spent her final years at home living with her daughter, Kathy Engle and beloved dog, Mattie.

She was a believer in God though not a member of a specific church.

Mom loved dollhouse miniatures, Suduko, and game shows.  Her very favorite thing in the world was her dog, Mattie who she spoiled and loved dearly.  She was always glad to take care of and support her family, as well as many of their friends, in any way she could.

She is reunited with her husband of 39 years, Ronald Frank Hoyt; parents, Arminta Andrews Haynes and Edwin Theodore Hanyes; brothers, Theodore and Vaughn Haynes.

Her memory is cherished by her daughter, Cindy H. Kreicar and partner Don Curnutte; son, Richard Alan Hoyt and wife Amy Hoyt; daughter, Kathy Hoyt Engle; son, Ronald Michael Hoyt, Sr; grandchildren, Shannon Christopher Kreicar, Christopher Hoyt, Randee Hoyt Love, Benjamin Alan Kreicar, Josh, Lt. Ricky Hoyt, Ronald Michael Hoyt, Jr., Robert W. Hoyt, Sadie Hoyt, Jennifer Engle Huskins, Jessica Engle Morris, Bryan Engle, Josh Gamble and his wife, Gabriella Gable; 24 great-grandchildren, Jaxon Kreicar, Grayson Kreicar, Kinsley Kreicar, Avery Kreicar, Kloe Cunningham, Airren Huskins, Robby Morris, Noah Morris, Bailee Morris, Austin Hoyt, Emma Hoyt, Jasmine Hoyt, Jesse Love, Cheyenne Love, Justin Love, Jeffrey Shumate, Caylee Love, and Josh Gamble, Caden Hoyt, Micah Hoyt, Joa’nna Hoyt, Lucas Gamble, Bentley Gamble, Nicholas Hughes, and Cindy Kreicar.

Per her wishes there will be no viewing or ceremony.
