Judy M. Wainwright, 71, passed away on June 21, 2022, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Judy was a native of Poquoson and a long-time resident of Newport News. She worked as a division secretary for NASA. She was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church. Judy had a special place in her heart for cats.
Preceded in death by her husband, John W. Wainwright III and parents, Mildred and Collis P. Moore, Jr.
Her memory is cherished by her brother, Mark Moore (Debbie); sister, Shelly Donahue (Andrew); step-son, Kevin Wainwright (Candi); grandson, Seth Wainwright; sister-in-law, Janet W. Kessler; nieces, Megan Donahue, Andrea Moore, Amanda Schooley, Tori Gross, and Carol Knott (Bryan) ; nephews, Jonathan Moore, Sean Wainwright (Mary), David Kessler (Lisa) ; great-nephew, Liam Soto as well as childhood friend, Claudia Hargis and dear friend, Keith Meeks.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 27th at the Claytor Rollins Funeral Home Chapel with the burial immediately following in Emmaus Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1 p.m.
