Karen Taylor Obituary

Karen Marie Smith Taylor, (affectionately known as Nana and MommaT) age 70, of Poquoson, Virginia, passed away peacefully in the early hours of March 14, 2022, at her home. 
Karen retired from civil service at Langley Air Force base after a successful career.
She was born February 21, 1952, in Oakland California, daughter to the late Leland and Alma Smith.
Along with her parents she is reunited in heaven with her father and mother in-law Harry Sr. and Eva Taylor.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 53 years, US Air Force Major (Ret) Harry “Jim” Taylor, Jr. and two brothers Alan (Karen) and Douglas Smith of Moyock. Her three children, Michelle Rose (Terry) of Shiloh, Patrick Taylor (Jennifer) of Yorktown, and Amy Rogers (James) of Poquoson; eleven grandchildren, Tucker Rose (Lilyann), Meghan King (Douglas), Kaia Taylor, Hunter Taylor, Rachael Taylor, Emma Rogers, Taylor Rogers, Gabrielle (Gabby) Taylor, Peyton Rogers, Jacob Rogers, Katelyn Bentley; and two great-grandchildren Ryder King and Jase Rose. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her. 
She enjoyed being outdoors, working in her flower beds, crocheting, or baking with her grandchildren. She never missed a chance to support her children and grandchildren at their sporting events or their extracurricular activities. She was an avid Washington Nationals and Redskins fan. 
A celebration of  Karen's life will be held 5 p.m. Monday, March 21st and the family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at 4 p.m. both at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home. The burial will be at a later date with immediate family.
