Obituary

Kenneth (Kenny) Floyd Metts, born Nov. 5, 1941, of Newport News, passed from this life to be united with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 19, 2022 at Riverside Hospital. 
Kenny is survived by his brother, Tommy Metts, who he lived with; his sister, Carol Meisse and husband Dick Meisse of Winston Salem, N.C.; brother, Tony Metts of Gladstone, VA; and sister Kathryn Benson and husband Donn of Virginia Beach, VA.
He is preceded in death by his brother Terry Metts; mother, Ruth; father, Marshall; all of the Tidewater area. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews in the VA and N.C. regions. 
Kenny was a graduate of Hampton High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Kenny made a career for himself as a salesman in the carpet industry, managing several peninsula stores and eventually retiring to pursue his many hobbies. Kenny played the  banjo and loved bluegrass music. He and Tommy often traveled and were regulars at the Denton Music Festival. Kenny loved dogs and raised some of the finest Bull Terriers in the area. Kenny was a follower of Jesus Christ and a faithful supporter of Abundant Life Tabernacle. There will be a [private] memorial service at Abundant Life Tabernacle on March 25, 2023, at 2:00 PM.
