Khione Atkins Obituary

In the early morning hours of February 14, 2025, Khione Holly Atkins peacefully departed this realm surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, Khione showed the world the warrior that she was from her first breath. She enraptured everyone she met with her radiant smile, trickster sense of humor, blunt honesty, and unyielding will. Khione knew no strangers, only friends-in-waiting. Her stature was directly disproportionate to the size of her heart, and the light in the world has dimmed without her in it.

She loved dinosaurs, dragons, games with her siblings and “besties,” and she hated dad jokes (unless she was the one making them.) She loved all colors, but purple was her favorite. She wanted to be a good person when she grew up and own two rabbits. Her words.

Her obsession with family touched every part of her life. Every toy, every game character, and every show she ever watched had to have loving parents and happy kids. This meant an ocean of stuffed animals.

She endured more physically and emotionally than most adults will ever experience in a full-life on this planet. But she did it with a smile and showed more courage than any soldier anyone has ever met.

In short, she was a badass, and she’d make sure you knew it.

She is survived by her family – blood and chose. Her mark will be felt by hundreds all over.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 7pm. at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson. All are welcome to attend.
