Kristen L. Webber “Kris”, 55, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. Kris was born in Morristown, New Jersey on December 12, 1964 to William K. Smith “Bill” and Sally A. Smith. She moved to Poquoson in 1975 and has been a lifelong resident. Kris was a 1983 graduate of Poquoson High School, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Christopher Newport University, and a Masters of Business Administration from Strayer University. She worked as a sub-contracts administrator at Newport News Shipbuilding.
Kris’ kind nature and generous soul were obvious to anyone she came in contact with. Once you were a friend, you were a friend for life. She was known for her hugs, and loved her family, friends, and “fur babies” with all her heart. Kris had a fighting spirit. She was stronger than you would think because she’s faced more than you could ever imagine. Despite everything she’s been through, Kris was beautiful inside and out and will be forever missed.
She is preceded in death by her beloved father Bill Smith, paternal and maternal grandparents, paternal aunts, uncles and cousins. Kris is survived by her mother Sally A. Smith (Lewis), her sister Kimberly A. Rabon (Curtis), Niece Casey L. Wells (Cameron), Cali A. Wells, and nephew Donald “Cody” Rabon, and a host of cousins and other family.
In lieu of flowers, you may send donations in her name to the Poquoson Volunteer Rescue Squad or Poquoson Animal Welfare Sanctuary.
Celebration of Kris’ life will be announced at a later date.
