Lee Vanover, Jr. Obituary

Lee Ernest Vanover Jr., 70, passed away February 13, 2021, with family by his side in Duluth, Georgia.

Born in Reading, Pennsylvania on November 10, 1950, he was the son of the late Stella Russo Vanover & Forry Schafer.  

Lee spent his childhood years in Reading before joining the United States Air Force in 1973. He retired in 1993 at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia.

Lee is survived by his wife, Jing ‘May’ of Duluth, GA; sister, Margaret ‘Sis’ (John) Mish of Reading, PA, children, Zachary (Christine) Vanover of Toano, VA, Megan (Nick) Stewart of Newport News, VA, Amy (Peter) Lerner of Williamsburg, VA, Lee Vanover of Mountain City, TX and Krystal Vanover of Kyle, TX. 

He leaves behind 8 grandchildren and one precious grandson on the way. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private memorial & burial service with Military Honors will be held at Albert G. Horton Veteran’s Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia on March 9th, 2021.
