Linda Ann Moore Ridenhour went to be with The Lord on May 14, 2023. Linda was born on November 11, 1944, and was a lifelong resident of Poquoson. She is preceded in death by her father, William Herbert Moore, Sr., her mother, Alma Linda Bunting Moore, sister, Alma Jean Moore Shaw and brother, William Herbert Moore, Jr. (W.H.).
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Harold (Dickie) E. Ridenhour, her son, Kurt E. Ridenhour, daughter Lisa Marie Ridenhour (Mercer), son in-law, John R. Mercer, Jr.; three grandchildren, Lindsay Anne Ridenhour, Keith Michael Richmond, Jr. and fiancé Martina Corinne Thomason, and Matthew John Mercer; and one great granddaughter, Ember Esme Davis; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Linda’s occupation consisted of working in the home taking care of her husband, children and household; she babysat children and cared for them as her own; she enjoyed doing yardwork and planting flowers each year as well as helping her husband work in the garden. Linda was an excellent cook, making lots of goodies, but especially known for her delicious fudge and cakes. She was known for always putting others’ needs before her own and had a great laugh.
Linda attended Tabernacle United Methodist Church, during her youth and later, Bible Baptist Church and Poquoson Baptist Church. She was a member of the Odd Fellows and Rebekah’s Lodge.
The family will be holding a Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the Odd Fellows and Rebekah’s Lodge, located at 106 Odd Road, Poquoson, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The family is requesting in lieu of flowers to make a donation to the Poquoson Volunteer Fire and Volunteer Rescue Squad, or to the Odd Fellows and Rebekah’s Lodge located at 106 Odd Road, Poquoson.
