Lomalee Taylor went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 15, 2021. Born on November 12, 1941, in Vindex, MD, she lived the last 50 plus years in Poquoson. She leaves behind her best friend and loving husband of 53 years, David “Sonny” Taylor.
Lee is predeceased by her father, Roy Franklin Kitzmiller, Sr., her mother, Helen Kitzmiller Huggett, step-father, Alph Huggett, and her sister Wilda Shepperd. She is survived by her brother, Roy F. Kitzmiller, Jr. (Marsha) and sisters Sandra Bloxom and Sharon Hutchinson (Billy), children Deborah Garrett Craig, Guy G. Garrett (Donna), and Tracy Hendrick (Dale). One of Lee’s greatest joys were her grandchildren: Mitchell Craig (Sarah), Katie Haire (Joel), Matthew Priest, Drew Garrett (Kimberly), Kelsi Garrett (Alex), Jenna Garrett (Moe), Kyle Garrett, Shelley Hendrick (Joey) and nephew Tristan Hutchinson who was always one of the grandkids. In recent years she was blessed by the addition of 8 great grandkids.
Lee had a number of occupations over the years and retired in 2011 from the cafeteria staff at Poquoson High School. It gave her great pleasure to see her grandkids in school. Lee and David spent many hours attending all the kids’ games, plays, concerts and events. Their focus was always supportive. As a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, she had to opportunity to work with the kids during VBS and always had a ready smile for all those she met.
