Mark Collis Moore, 62, was called home, Friday March 24, 2023. A native of Poquoson Mark was born June 5, 1960, to the late Collis, Jr. and Mildred Moore and he was a long-time resident of Poquoson who also enjoyed going to his cabin in the woods in West Point. Mark loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his dad and learning woodworking. He loved being around his family. Mark retired from NASA as a Mechanical Engineer and spent his time doing the things he loved. He enjoyed his music by artists such as Aretha Franklin, Chic, Quincy Jones, Chaka Khan, Luther Vandross, Bootsy, and many more. He also loved watching shows he grew up with like Andy Griffith, Perry Mason, Gilligan Islands and I Dream of Jeannie. Mark was a handy man who could build and repair anything.
Preceded in death by his parents, twin siblings, Jessie and Jeanie Moore; sister, Judy Wainwright; grandfathers, Collis Moore Sr, and Floyd T. Waters, Sr.; grandmothers, Eunice Moore and Annie Waters. His memory is cherished by his former wife and friend, Debbie Moore; children Jonathan C. Moore and Andrea A. Moore; sisters, Shelly Donahue (Drew) and Dena Gross; nieces, Megan Donahue, Amanda Schooley and Tori Gross; great-nephew, Liam Soto as well as many other loving relatives and dear friends.
A celebration of Mark’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 31st at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home Poquoson, Virginia.
