Marvin Lee Watson, 80, passed away Thursday February 3, 2022. A current resident of Williamsburg, he was native of Wilson, North Carolina Marvin born August 26, 1941 to the late H.W. Watson and Esther Casper. Marvin was a 1965 graduate of the Shipyard Apprentice School in the field of Mechanical Engineering. He spent at total of 45 years with Huntington Ingalls and was set to retire February 1st of this year. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Hampton.
Marvin loved his family very much. He always showed up at his grandchildren's sporting events and he loved going to the gym at least 4 days a week. He was an avid Washington Redskins Fan, loved to play golf in his younger days, and, admittedly, a habitual lottery player.
Marvin is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Phyllis McKinsey. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Rebecca; children, Amber Tompkins (Doug), Christian Watson (Victoria) and Brandy Watson; grandchildren, Brady, Colin, Levi, Olivia, Charlotte, Keegan and Remington; brother, Raymond Watson of Scotland Neck, North Carolina as well as many other loving family and dear friends.
A celebration of Marvin's life will take place 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 9th at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home with a visitation immediately following the service until 8 p.m.
