Mary Alline Evans, 90, passed away at home surrounded by her family on May 31st, 2020. Mary was a native and resident of Poquoson. She was a devoted woman of faith who loved the Lord and her church. Along with her late husband, she was one of the founding members of Messick Baptist Chapel in Poquoson and attended as long as she was able.
Affectionately known as “Nana”, Mary loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren very much. She enjoyed her family time and quality time with friends, Friday night dinners, talking on the phone, listening to Christian music, and socializing.
Mary is preceded in rest by her husband, Davis Ray Evans; son, Charles Gray Evans; grandson, Derek Evans; granddaughter, Cori Rene Evans Thornton; and great-granddaughter, Heavenly Hope Turco.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, James Ray Evans and wife Joyce, David Lynn Evans and wife Donna; grandchildren, Tyler Evans, Jami Evans, Angel Merritt, Jennifer Miner, Tina Turco, Jamie Evans, Amanda Lewis, Josh Evans, and Brandon Evans; great-grandchildren, Emily, Cheyenne, Calleigh, Gannon, Ethan, Logan, Brooke, Jacob, Corali, Hunter, Peyton, Samantha, Kayla, Alvia, and Makinza; dear friends and running partners, Mary Lee Dryden and Gloria Quinn; extended family, Michele Evans and other nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
