Maywood Lee Wilson

Maywood Lee Wilson, 91, went to meet his Lord and Savior on February 4, 2024. Maywood was born, raised, and lived his entire life in Tabb, Virginia.

Maywood was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Following his military service, Maywood embarked on a 39-year career at NASA Langley working in the areas of metal plating, composite materials, and pultrusion technologies. Maywood was the author of numerous technical papers and held multiple patents related to pultrusion and composite materials.

Maywood served as the Adult Sunday School Teacher, Chairman of the Deacons, and was a Trustee at South York Baptist Church, in York County for many years. Maywood served on the York County Planning Commission for 7 years in the 1970s and was the Planning Commission Chairman in 1977.

Maywood was an avid beekeeper and devoted Christian.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Twyla; their infant daughter, Liesyl; and seven brothers and sisters; Buck, Frank, Roy, Wilton, Violet, Lorraine, and Pearl.

Maywood is survived by his children, Lance (Bitten), Blair (Teresa), and Treslyn (Bill); four granddaughters, Candice, Jessica, Chloe and Alexa.

A graveside service will be held at Parklawn Memorial Park on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 1:00PM.
