Nancy E Marsh born to William and Olga Marsh June 5, 1931 in Chicago lL. Nancy was raised and attended school in the Chicago Public School System and then taught in the same, in and around the Chicago area. Her parents moved to the Gulfport, Florida area in the 1950s, Nancy joined them and taught high school ending her teaching career in 1994 at Osceola High, as Assistant Principal. To quote the Osceola Everglade Yearbook of 1994, Nancy said - “I love working with children. Bad or good, I love them all.” The Everglade Yearbook that year was dedicated to her:
“Here at Osceola High School, Nancy Marsh is respected by students and faculty for her fairness and her dedication. We on the Everglade know that in her thirty-nine year career she has greatly influenced the lives of many.”
Nancy had a long and fun-filled retirement after 1994. She delighted in her friends in Florida, Tennessee, Nevada and California. For much of the time, she was accompanied by her trusty Jack Russell, Buddy. On Dec 26th, she died peacefully in the home of her second cousin (Dede Watlington) with Buddy at her side. Nancy loved Florida and the Gulf. Her friends will take her remains and follow her last wishes, to touch the Gulf water one more time. Nancy is survived by the children of her beloved cousin, Bette Johnson (née Gabrielson), Dede Watlington, Mary Chandler and Mark (Barb) Johnson and many friends in The Villages.
