Nicholas John Andre, “Nick,” peacefully passed away on June 26, 2022, after an extraordinary 92 years of life.
Nick was born on February 19, 1930, in Richmond, Virginia. He graduated from Virginia Tech and served in the U.S Army Corps of Engineers, retiring as a Colonel after 27 years. Following his military career, he was the Director of Plant and Engineering at Hampton General Hospital. He resided in Poquoson for 48 years.
Nick’s proudest accomplishment was his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Dottie. He was a devoted husband and father of 5 children: Sandra Lindell (Mike), Nick Andre, Jr (Connie), Mike Andre (Angel Lori), Teresa Dieffenwierth (Eric), Carol Cousins, 11 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
The Trisagion service will begin at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 29th at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home in Poquoson, VA, with a visitation immediately following until 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. June 30th at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 60 Traverse Road, Newport News, VA 23606. The internment will follow 3:00 p.m. at Parklawn Memorial Park in Hampton, with full military honors.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kruger, Kim Heath, and the staff of VA Oncology Associates and Personal Touch for the wonderful care provided.
