Gloucester- Norman H. Holloway Jr., 83, a native of Poquoson until moving to Gloucester in 1979, passed away surrounded by his loving family. Before retirement, Norman was Superintendent of Maintenance at BASF Fibers, Manager of Maintenance and Utilities at MANN Industries and retired at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital as Director of Plant Operations.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Norman H. Holloway Sr., and Bessie P. Holloway; daughter, Julie H. Bryant, grandson, William Bryant; brother-in-law, Nelson E. Wood. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Judy O. Holloway of Gloucester; son, Daniel H. Holloway (Nancy) of Poquoson; daughter, Molly H. Rivera (Jose) of Granby, Connecticut; five grandchildren, Parker J. Bryant (Holly), Joseph D. Rivera (Nicole), Zachary L. Rivera, Hannah M. Holloway, Isabella E. Holloway; great-granddaughter, Violet W. Rivera; sister, Gweneth H. Wood, and nephews, David N. Wood (Sharon) and James “Keith” Wood (Lisa).
A celebration of life will take place 1 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home. A reception will immediately follow the service at the Poquoson Woman's Club adjacent to the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made to Gloucester Volunteer Fire Company P.O. Box 1417, Gloucester VA 23061 or your local volunteer fire company.
