Richard "Dickie" Capps Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Richard “Dickie” Capps who departed this life on June 13, 2026. Dick is survived by his loving wife Deanna(Dee) of Yorktown, Va, Son David(Wanda) of Poquoson, Va, Daughter Darlene Putnam(Phil) of Hartfield, Va, three grandchildren Andy Putnam(Andrea), Alyssa Huskey(Brent), Amy Puckett(Maison) and three great-grandchildren Noah, Elijah and Ember who will forever cherish his memory. Dick served in the Navy and retired from the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce. Dick was an accomplished trumpet player, a local basketball referee and softball umpire and an avid sports fan who loved the Washington Redskins and Duke University basketball. Dick was also a member of Northside Christian Church and Praymates Class. A remembrance will start at 2 p.m. June 22 with visitation afterward at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home in Poquoson, Va.
