Robert David “Bob” Turner, 83, passed away on January 1, 2021. Born on November 8, 1937, Robert was a native Hampton and resided in Yorktown until his passing. Robert was born into a family of 4 sisters and 5 brothers, him being the “baby” of the family. He graduated from Hampton High School in 1956 and married the mother of his children, Nancy Jo Carl, on September 27, 1958. Robert worked at NASA Langley Research Center as an Electronic Engineer his entire working life, where he also worked on the wind tunnel and the space shuttle, retiring in 1994. Known by his golf buddies as "Bob", he loved golfing and was a lifelong member of the Langley Golf Course, competing in several tournaments over the years. He also enjoyed classic cars and restoring them and was a member of the Poquoson Car Club.
Robert is preceded in rest by his wife, Nancy Carl Turner.
He is survived by children, Teresa "Terri" Littlefield and husband David, Robert "Robby" Turner, Jr. and wife Lisa; grandchildren, David Littlefield Jr., Brittany Littlefield, Brandi Turner Gills and husband Hamilton, Christopher “Bubba” Turner; sister, Ruth Wilson; and brother, Glenn Turner and wife Shirley.
