Robert "Bobby" Jay Tomlinson, Jr.

Robert (Bobby) Jay Tomlinson Jr., age 46, passed away on January 18, 2022. Bobby was born in Sommerville, NJ on November 26, 1975, and married Wendy Flood on March 23, 2009.
 

As part of a military family, Bobby enjoyed seeing much of the world at a young age.  He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years.

Soon after leaving the Air Force, he went to work at Ferguson Enterprise, Inc, staying for 21 years in multiple areas, most notably with the Networking team.  He recently left Ferguson for a new opportunity as a Solutions Engineer at Check Point Software Solutions.

Bobby loved life and lived it to the fullest.  He loved to laugh; talk and spend time with family, friends, and neighbors; seek new adventures (like skydiving) and share old ones (like cliff jumping) with anyone that would participate; enjoy a good bourbon or IPA beer; cook, use his smoker, and try new foods; and was always searching for the next hot sauce that still had good flavor.
 

Bobby is survived by his wife, Wendy Flood; his children Amy (David) Brainerd of Norfolk, VA, and Carl Frady, Ryleigh Tomlinson, and Mason Tomlinson, all of Tabb, VA; his granddaughter Ophelia Brainerd; his brothers, James and David Tomlinson of Poquoson, VA; and many family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert (Bob) and Angeline (Angie) Tomlinson.

The funeral will be held at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, 835 Poquoson Avenue, Poquoson,  Virginia 23662 at 3:00 p.m. on January 29, 2022, with the visitation from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and a remembrance ceremony from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
