Rose Mary Ferguson Bunting, departed this life on June 20, 2026, at age of 93 after living a wonderful life. Born October 8th, 1932, Rose was a lifelong native and resident of Poquoson. She was a devoted Mother and provider to her family.

Rose graduated from Poquoson High School in 1951 and had a rewarding career working at NASA Langley, Army Research Laboratory, and with a combined 35 years of service she retired as a Privacy Officer for the US Air Force.

A devoted Christian and member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Rose was a former member of the Poquoson Women’s Club, Poquoson Garden Club, and an Adult Leader in the Navajo 4-H Club.

Rose was preceded in death by her Husband Joseph “Buddy” Bunting, Father Maurice G. Ferguson, Stepfather J.C. Kinder, Mother Mary Messick Kinder, and Brother Roy A. Ferguson.

Left to cherish her memory are her brother Jack A. Ferguson (Diane), daughters Glenna Rimmer (John), Karen McVay (John), son Joseph Bunting Jr. (Marianne), 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 6:00pm – 7:30pm. Funeral Service will be held at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home on Thursday, June 25th at 11:00am. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Poquoson Volunteer Fire Department P.O. Box 2024, Poquoson, VA 23662.
