Stanley Carroll Forrest Obituary
Stanley Carroll Forrest, 73, of Bull Island, Va, performed his final Irish goodbye on June 30, 2026, after a nearly 20-year battle with Cancer.
Perhaps better known as, Honey, Dad, Pop, Uncle Stan, Stanley Carroll, Stan the man, Stanley Steamer, or Stanimal.
Born a MuddyToe from Messick, Va on April 2, 1953, to Henderson and Dale Forrest. An adventurer at heart, he spent much of his earlier life traveling the country for work and pleasure before settling down in his native Poquoson with family.
Starting at a young age, he followed in his father’s footsteps as a commercial waterman. Fishing and trawling locally as well as up and down both coasts of North America. Spending lots of time in New England/Canada and the Pacific Northwest/Alaska. In 1981, he returned home to local waters where he and his brother worked the water on their deadrise, the Miss Dale.
In the late 80’s he started working as a Heavy Equipment Operating Engineer with IUOE Local 147. Celebrating 41 years on 6/28/26. From the Paper mill to the oil refinery with many good memories and friends in between, he was a proud Union man.
