Obituary

Steven L. Brown, 70, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022. A native of Lawson, MO Steven was born to the late Larry and Shirley Brown and he was a Yorktown resident for the last 33 years. He was able to see the world through all of his deployments with the United States Air Force and Steven was always accepted as an honorary local in countries like Japan, Philippines, UK, Turkey, Spain, and Honduras. He earned the rank of MSgt in the Air Force through his 22 years of service and he also retired from a second career as co-owner with his wife, Yu Yeh, of the Empress Restaurant from which they retired in 2003. Steven did tours in Desert Shield, Desert Storm and Operation Provide Comfort. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, talking to animals and being a Kansas City Chiefs fan.

Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gerald Brown, and daughter, Casie Walsh, Steven is survived by his loving  wife of 43 years Yu Yeh Brown; children, Kellie Romo, Brandon Brown, Rachelle Schilling (Bill), Jeremy Brown (Jia), Anthony Brown (Su Kyeong); grandchildren, Loa Brown, Ailee Brown, Saiya Brown, Mirari Brown, Amara Brown, Hali Schilling, Ian Schilling, Amber Brown, Kyle Brown, Coti Brown, Tressie Belyeu, Cody Clary, Mason Ramsey, Hanah Adair, Joshua Neal, and Ashleigh Long; thirteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Donnita Franklin, Sandy Sharon and Larry Todd Brown as well as many other loving relatives and dear friends.
