It is with a very sad and heavy heart that I tell you that my mom passed away Saturday 2/13/2021. We had not been able to see her since Christmas, due to Covid. My mom had been battling Metastatic skin cancer, which had spread to other parts of her body. She also came down with Covid, almost 3 weeks ago. She had gone on hospice just Monday 2/8/2021. We were all able to go see her this past Friday and tell her how much we loved her and spent time with her that day. We saw her for the last time Saturday morning and she then passed away after we had left. She went peacefully and she was not in pain. I am so thankful for that, because she’s been through so much over the years. Anyone who knew my mom knew she was a fighter. She survived countless health issues over the years, especially two strokes in 2003 that left her disabled, almost unable to walk. She didn’t let that stop her though. She fought on, fought hard, determined, courageous, and always feisty. She never complained, never felt sorry for herself, she maintained a positive attitude through everything. She was such an inspiration to me. I will not soon forget that even as weak as she was Saturday morning, she smiled as soon as she saw that her grandsons had come to see her. I will carry that memory forever with me. Rest In Peace, Mom, I love you so very much and so do Drew, Alex and Eric! Our lives will now have a hole in them where you used to be.
The pictures enclosed are from her 85th birthday this past August 2020. She was surrounded by her grandsons, their girlfriends and me, her family. The picture below is my favorite picture of her; it is from several years ago.
Sincerely,
Lori Myers Musser
