Tommy D. Insley, 75, was called home Wednesday, May 5, 2021. A native of Poquoson, Tommy was a resident of Surry County and worked as a waterman all of his life. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Alice Insley; brothers, David James Insley (Shirley), Charles Michael Insley, Sidney Lee Insley (Loretta); Joseph G. Insley; sisters, Alice Mae Firth, Emily Forrest (Thomas), Jane Babb, Paulette Evans (Wayne), and granddaughter, Kandis Williams Carter, Tommy is survived by the love of his life, Joan Firth; children, Alice Powell (Kevin), Teresa Morse (Johnny), Lesa Williams Hartge (Henry), and Larry Manning, a host of grandchildren, Kevin Powell, Jr., Sheila Powell, Samantha Powell, John Morse, Scott Morse, Robby Williams, Lee Manning, and Trevor Manning; many great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews, loving family and dear friends. The family would especially like to thank Bubba Withrow and family for all their help during Tommy's illness.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 10th at Eastern Cemetery in Poquoson.
