Vernon Harold Page, 72, departed this life on May 2nd after a long battle with heart disease. Vernon was born August 1st, 1949. Vernon was a native and lifelong resident of Poquoson, Virginia.
Vernon spent his career in the banking industry as a bank manager, loan officer, and later in life Vice President working at several different banks. Vernon was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He grew up on Poquoson Avenue directly across from Poquoson Middle School which was the High School when he graduated in 1967. Vernon married his high school sweetheart with whom he shared three boys. When his boys were young, Vernon enjoyed attending their various athletic events and even participated as an assistant coach for youth league football. Vernon was a homebody and very much enjoyed tending to his home and his yard. In the summer, he enjoyed spending days outside around the pool and vacationing in the Outer Banks and camping with his family. Vernon's greatest joy in life stemmed from spending time with family, children, and grandchildren.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents Virginia and Vernon Page.
Vernon is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth "Betsy" Page who he loved dearly; children, Brian Page, Robert Page (Amy Page) and Paul Page (Desiree Page); grandchildren, Joseph Robert Page and Thomas Vernon Page; two sisters, Nancy Smith and Mary Estelle Wainwright; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home on Thursday, May 5th, 2022, at 2:00 PM with a visitation to follow the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements and heartfelt guidance through Claytor Rollins Funeral Home.
