Virginia Rhodes

Virginia Rhodes, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025 at the age of 83 with her family at her side. Born in New York in 1942 she married and relocated to Virginia at the age of 20 where she spent the rest of her days building a life filled with family, love, and joy.

Virginia was an expert seamstress who lovingly made clothes for her children, costumes for the Community Theater, and beautiful dresses for brides. Her talent and care left lasting memories stitched into the lives of those she touched.

She carried a cheerful spirit and a love for God and the outdoors. She could often be found riding her bike, enjoying festivals, spending time with her best friend, Dagmara, or indulging in her favorite treat – chocolate. She never missed an opportunity to worship God with her church family. Her smile and zest for life will be remembered by all who knew her.

Above all, Virginia was devoted to her family. She is survived by her children: Joey (Chrissy), Maria (Ed), Angel (Eric), Rosa (Tommy) and Tina. She was the proud grandmother of 13 and the adoring great-grandmother of 20, along with a host of grand-pups and kitty’s, each of whom brought her immense joy.

Virginia’s warmth, kindness, and love for life will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Celebration of Life Service is planned for 3:00 pm on September 20, 2025 at New Life Ministry Center Church of God (3450 George Washington Memorial Highway in Hayes, VA. 23072) with Pastor Jack Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to New Life Ministry Center benevolence fund.
