Walter Edward Apelt

Walter Edward Apelt, born on December 10, 1942 in San Antonio, TX, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 in Scottsville, VA at the age of 82.The son of Armin Otto and Ella Anna Joraschky Apelt, he was an active member of his several residential communities, including Fairfax, Springfield, Virginia Beach, and Poquoson, VA.

Remaining to cherish Walter’s memory are wife Patricia Smith Apelt; children Kathleen Apelt, Wendy Apelt Matheson, John Apelt, Charles Apelt, and Laura Apelt Maney; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sister Bernice Apelt Mussey of Springfield, Virginia; and a great number of extended family.

Preceding Walter in death are his Mother and Father, and son John Armin Apelt. 

Visitation will be held October 11, 2025 at 1:30 P.M. at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, 836 Poquoson Ave, Poquoson, VA 23662. Internment will follow at 3:00 P.M. at Peninsula Memorial Park, 12750 Warwick Blvd, Newport News, VA 23606.
