William E. Ferguson, Jr.

William E Ferguson, Jr. (Fergie; Bubba; Eddie Boy) of Poquoson/Yorktown, VA passed away peacefully on January 31, 2024, after battling with many illnesses.

He was born and raised as a Poquoson Bull Islander in 1948. He was a combat veteran of the Vietnam War but returned to the Tidewater area to serve again. Fergie served as a Smithfield Deputy Sheriff for a short while, then joined the City of Hampton Police Department from 1974-1996. He enjoyed being on his tractor, or on his boat and fishing.

He is survived by the love of his life, Louise Farmer Ferguson, his sister Jeanne Stough (Sissy), his stepson, Wesley Mayo, his grandchildren: Kyle, Brianna, and Brandon. He is preceded in death by his parents, Preacher and Gracie Ferguson, and his stepson, Wayne Mayo.

A celebration of life will be from Noon-3pm on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024. The visitation and sharing of memories will be held at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home and Crematory of Poquoson.
