William B. Wyatt, Jr. 91, slipped away to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 21, 2022. A native of Hamilton, Mississippi, he had been a resident of Gloucester for 46 years and recently moved to Poquoson. Bill served his country in the United States Air Force, and he was the owner/operator of Wyatt’s Home Furnishings, formally Pilgrim House.
He loved playing tennis, Rook, and Monopoly, watching Fox News and the Washington Nationals. His favorite pastime was cutting grass. All in - a life well lived.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, six siblings and grandson, Taylor Vit. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Peggy Hudgins Wyatt; children, Cindy Topping (Jimmie), Kathie Vit (Bill) and Greg Wyatt; grandchildren, Brian Topping, Zachary Vit, Cameron Vit (fiancée, Nicole Cornet), and Parker Wyatt; great-grandchildren, Annabelle Topping, Amelia Topping and Dalton Wyatt; furry companion, Billy the cat.
He is also survived by sister-in-law, Joann Hudgins (Sal Dominguez); nieces, Christina Dominguez (Ashley Clinedinst), Rosanna Jordan (Jeremy), great-nieces, Lillie Clinedinst, Charlotte Jordan; great-nephews, Hayden Jordan and Carlyle Clinedinst as well as his devoted nephew, Jeff Wyatt (Emily).
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 24th in the chapel of Claytor Rollins Funeral Home by Reverend Bob Cooper. The burial will take place privately at Peninsula Memorial Park.
