William "Billy" King Hunt

William King Hunt, 66, a Poquoson native and lifelong resident passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021. He was born at Dixie Hospital in Hampton, VA on March 2, 1955, to the late Henry B. Hunt, Jr., and Rosalyn P. Hunt. Billy followed his love of the water where he was a commercial fisherman for many years.  Later in life, Billy became a heavy equipment operator which he enjoyed and would frequently send his grandsons videos of him working the equipment.  He was also a volunteer firefighter for the Poquoson Fire Department. He enjoyed spending his free time fishing and teaching his grandkids everything he knew about the water.  Every chance he got; he was surrounded by his grandkids that called him Pop Pop.  Another love of his was the flight simulator world where he made numerous friends and touched many lives from all over the country.

Billy was preceded in death by his wife of 17 years, Connie W. Hunt, his parents Henry B. and Rosalyn P. Hunt, Jr., grandparents John W. and Nolian W. Pauls, and Henry B. and Naomi F. Hunt, Sr., and uncle Sidney F. Pauls.

Billy is survived by his daughters Natalie Hunt (Jim Withrow) and children Taylor, Ashton, and Marlie Withrow, and Naomi Wood (Ricky Fiedler) and children Caleb and Connie Wood and Aubrey and Olee Fiedler, Joanne Thorne, companion of 22 years, her daughter Heather Graham (Neal) and their children Haley and Lucas.  He is also survived by his brothers Henry B. Hunt, III and John C. Hunt (Tami) and his sister Donna H. Garrison (Charles), his aunt Betty B. Pauls and many beloved nieces and nephews and cousins.
